Atlanta is set to host a treasure trove of monetary history when the National Money Show takes over the Cobb Galleria Centre from Feb. 27 to March 1.

The event, sponsored by the American Numismatic Association (ANA), will showcase more than $100 million in historic coins and currency, offering the public a chance to get up close and personal with numerous rare items.

Among the must-see currencies that will be on display include the famous 1913 Liberty Head nickel (one of only five ever minted), valued at $3 million; along with a $100 trillion Zimbabwe banknote that stands as an example of one of the world’s most extreme cases of hyperinflation, according to a release.

“Money is history you can hold in your hands, and we are proud to display more than $100 million of numismatic treasures for the public to enjoy at the National Money Show,” said Thomas J. Uram, president of ANA.

“It’s incredible that such small treasures can hold so much value and history, and we want everyone to have the chance to see this remarkable show in person.”

Over 350 dealers from across the U.S. will be in-attendance at the event, where they will be purchasing and selling rare coins, vintage paper money, medals, tokens and various metals. Attendees are also encouraged to bring in their own coins and currency for free, informal evaluations by expert numismatists.

Other experiences planned for the upcoming National Money Show include various educational seminars, a treasure trivia game for kids, as well as a unique photo opportunity — in which guests can have their faces placed on a U.S. $100,000 bill.

Next year’s National Money Show will be held in Hall B of the Cobb Galleria Centre, located at 2 Galleria Parkway in Atlanta.

Tickets for the event are $10 for adults on the Thursday and Friday (Feb. 27 and 28), with free entry for children 12 and under. On the Saturday (March 1), admission will be free for all visitors.
