A Bulldog’s Guide To The Super Bowl

Yes, few aspects of Super Bowl Sunday are more reliable than at least a handful of Georgia Bulldog football alumni playing on the biggest stage in all of pro football. For the 24th season in a row at least one former Bulldog will be suiting up when the Super Bowl kicks off this evening at 6:30 on FOX. But this year the numbers are higher than ever. The Philadelphia Eagles will suit up seven former ‘Dawgs: Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint Jalen Carter Lewis Cine Jordan Davis Nakobe Dean Kelee Ringo Nolan Smith Even Eagles quarterback and former Alabama Crimson Tide standout Jalen Hurts recently conceded that the UGA influence on the Eagles has shaped the team’s identity. The defending champion Kansas City Chiefs will have only one Classic City Canine on the field, veteran defensive lineman Malik Herring. Still, eight Bulldogs in the big game is as good an advertisement as one could imagine for Kirby Smart’s program. The Philadelphia Bulldogs are the underdog, albeit by the slimmest of margins. The Chiefs are a 1.5 point favorite at this juncture but I wouldn’t be surprised to see some late money move the line a bit. If I were a betting man, which I vociferously am not, I’d probably take the Eagles and the points. Go ‘Dawgs!!!
