Avalon Action Alliance to honor Marcus and Blank at inaugural gala

Avalon Action Alliance, a nonprofit dedicated to providing life-changing programs for veterans and first responders, is holding its Inaugural Gala on April 10 at Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta.

This event honors the legacy of Bernie Marcus, Avalon’s founder, and Arthur M. Blank, who will be awarded the Legacy of Service award. Multi-award-winning actor and musician Gary Sinise will emcee the event and perform.

The evening will bring together leaders in business and philanthropy, as well as the military and first responder communities, to recognize the impact of Avalon Action Alliance’s programs and generate the support needed for its future growth.

According to a press release, Avalon Action Alliance removes barriers to treatment for those suffering from mild Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Post-traumatic Stress (PTS), and Substance Abuse (SA). Avalon empowers veterans and first responders to reclaim their lives and well-being through an alliance of strategic partners and integrated care solutions.

The evening includes dinner, stories of resilience from program graduates and Medal of Honor recipient Captain Florent Groberg, and a performance by Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band.

Funds raised during the event will directly support our ongoing programs, enabling us to expand our reach and impact,” Steve Cannon, Chairman of the Avalon Action Alliance, said in the release. “Without Bernie Marcus’s relentless commitment to creating a national network to provide care for our veterans, thousands of our nation’s defenders would have continued to suffer from the consequences of their service.”
