The Falcons are preparing for their third divisional matchup in as many weeks as they travel to Charlotte to take on the Panthers.

Atlanta will try to improve their record in the NFC South to a perfect 3-0 to take a stranglehold on the division. They might have some reinforcemrnts to help in that task too.

The club officially opened Nate Landman’s 21-day practice window to return from the injured reserve, and on Tuesday, he was practicing. Unfortunately, the good news comes with bad news as well. Troy Andersen wasn’t practicing and is considered day-to-day.

Both linebackers have missed time. Landman was placed on the IR following the season opener against the Steelers, while Andersen suffered a knee injury in Week 4 and didn’t play during the short week against the Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football.

In their place, JD Bertrand got the start, the first time a Falcons rookie started in 2024. Though he performed admirably, the Falcons would surely love to have one or both of Landman and Andersen back for Week 6 against the Panthers.

Carolina can run the football, and Atlanta is susceptible on the ground. Getting Nate Landman and Troy Andersen back would be ideal because it would theoretically free up Kaden Elliss to rush the passer, but more than anything, getting Landman back to defend against the run would be an awesome development for the Falcons.
