Raheem Morris provides update on three injured Falcons

The Falcons are 4-2 for the first time since 2016, the year they went on to win the NFC and represent the conference in the Super Bowl. They’ve won three consecutive games against NFC South foes and sit on top of the division alongside the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

There are a plethora of factors that have contributed to the Falcons’ hot start, but a primary one has been health. The Falcons have been without a few key pieces early on this season, but for the most part, they’ve been relatively healthy and have avoided anything catastrophic.

That, unfortunately, was not the case for Micah Abernathy, who suffered a knee injury against the Panthers. According to Raheem Morris, the injury was significant, and Abernathy will miss a lot of time. On the flip side, Morris did say that Justin Simmons‘ hamstring injury isn’t something they’re worried about and also added that Troy Andersen continues to progress well. It’s possible the Falcons linebacker will return to the lineup as early as next Sunday for a matchup with the Seahawks.
