After a nationwide search, The Lovett School officially announced its new Head of Middle School this week.
Stepping into the role is Alisha Fisher, a Washington, D.C. native that holds over 20 years of experience in education, including roles as a superintendent, principal and instructional coach.
Prior to her new position, she most recently served as superintendent at Atlanta Heights Charter School, where she earned accolades for exceeding enrollment goals, improving satisfaction levels and boosting student attendance.
Additionally, Fisher earned the Coca-Cola Teacher of the Year distinction during her final year teaching in a classroom.
“We are thrilled to welcome Alisha Fisher to Lovett as our new Head of Middle School,” said Meredyth Cole, head of The Lovett School. “Alisha’s deep passion for education and her proven ability to build thriving learning communities will undoubtedly enable her to bring out the extraordinary in our middle school students. Her leadership will inspire, support, and challenge our students, and enhance Lovett’s reputation as a destination middle school for families.”
Among Fisher’s academic credentials include a bachelor’s degree from Clark Atlanta University, a master’s from Kennesaw State University and a specialist degree from Nova Southeastern University.
According to The Lovett School, Fisher’s leadership approach is exemplified by her commitment to “fostering academic excellence, inclusivity and student well-being.”
“I am honored and thrilled to join The Lovett School as the Head of Middle School,” said Fisher. “Lovett’s commitment to nurturing students’ intellectual curiosity, character, and creativity deeply resonates with me. I am eager to collaborate with the exceptional faculty, students, and families to build on the school’s rich traditions while fostering an inclusive and exciting learning environment where every student can flourish.”
Fisher’s first day as acting Head of Middle School is slated for March 10, The Lovett School said.
