Thursday Morning ‘Dawg Bites
Photo by Todd Kirkland/Getty Images Good Thursday morning Dawg fans, hope all of you are staying safe this week and enjoying this great Fall weather as it is officially sweatshirt season. Not too many headlines but some important ones within the Georgia and College football world today, so lets get right into it. NCAA eliminates NLI The NCAA eliminated the National Letter of Intent yesterday morning as the Letter of Intent seems to no longer hold much weight in the NIL and Transfer Portal era. The NLI was introduced in 1964 and has been the main agreement between universities and athletes up until now. There will still be financial aid and scholarship agreements involved as there will be little change in that aspect. Kirby speaks on Colbie Young situation Coach Kirby Smart got the chance to address the media on Wednesday and provided an update regarding the Colbie Young arrest. In a nutshell, Smart told the media that Young would be suspended indefinitely while the legal matter is being resolved. Young is the seventh Dawg to be arrested since the month of March as the program’s integrity continues to be questioned. Dawgs on TNF A few Georgia greats will return to the NFL gridiron on Thursday night as the 2-3 San Francisco 49ers travel to Seattle to take on the 3-2 Seahawks. Three former Dawgs will suit up for the 49ers as Robert Beal Jr, Chris Conley, and Leonard Floyd will all contribute tonight. Meanwhile for the Seahawks, Kenny McIntosh is the lone former Dawg as he is hoping for an increase in his workload as he currently has three carries for 11 yards on the season. That's all for this Thursday edition of Dawg Bites. As always, stay safe and Go Dawgs!
